If you are looking for something fun, entertaining, and interesting to do this May you won’t want to miss Cape Cod Maritime Days. This celebration of Cape Cod’s vibrant maritime history is a Cape wide event that includes so many exhilarating, festive and educational activities that you couldn’t possibly see them all.
Every community on the Cape gets involved in Maritime Days with local events and festivities which highlight their own contributions to the area’s maritime past. Because of this many activities may be schedules on the same day and at the same time making it impossible for you to attend all of them. Though this can make for some hard choices it also means that there will likely always be something that interests you no matter when in the month of May you decide to visit the Cape.
There are, however, also a number of ongoing events during Cape Cod’s Maritime Days. These events are available daily so no matter when during the month you come you should be able to get in on the fun.
At this years Maritime Days celebration daily events include things like:
“Sails on Sarah”, a 1-2 hour sail on a 1886 Crosby Catboat replica, May 2-31 by appointment…
The Cape Cod maritime Museums “Transformations” exhibit which focuses the change from life as farmers to life as seafarers in 17th and 18th century Cape Cod, May 2-31 during museum hours…
Highland Lighthouse Tours where you climb to the top of a lighthouse and watch a video depicting the history of Highland Light, opening May 16 for the season…
