  1. The bay at Herring Cove Beach inside the National Park is almost 1 1/2 miles away from Dunes’ Edge Campground. Herring Cove is accessible by walking along highway 6 or by a paved walking/bicycle path inside the National Park. The beach at the ocean is inside the National Park at Race Point Beach just over 2 miles away from Dunes’ Edge. The paved walking/bicycle paths that start near the campground will also take you to Race Point Beach. These scenic paths wind up and down and around the dunes while on the way to the beach. The park rangers charge a day-time fee at the beaches. Walk or bicycle into Provincetown and leave your vehicle parked in your site. It is a 15 minute walk into town to Commercial St. from the campground. Much of the campground abuts the woods inside the National Park boundary. The dunes are 1/2 mile behind the campground.
