Cape Cod vacations.
Everyone loves them – especially our nation’s presidents.
For decades presidents like Grover Cleveland, Dwight D. Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy and Bill Clinton have vacationed on Cape Cod and the islands of Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard.
And in August, President Barack Obama will join the ranks of Cape Cod vacationers. He is scheduled to take a little time off with a trip to Oak Bluffs on Martha’s Vineyard. President Obama, along with wife Michelle and adorable daughters Sasha and Malia, have, in the past, spent time on the island swimming at South Beach, watching the ferries and playing golf at some of the beautiful local courses.
While the President is there this summer he might also be interested in taking the girls to ride the the oldest operating carousel in the United States, The Flying Horse Carousel, or taking a tour of one or all of the five lighthouses open to tourists across the island.
Whatever their plans, they are sure to find plenty of marvelous attractions and entertainment to keep them as busy as they would like to be. Though, being as that the job of President of the United States of America is likely to come with its fair share of stress, it is also possible the Obamas will just want to kick back with a good book and watch the surf lap the sand. There’s certainly no better place to do it than on Cape Cod.
Of course you don’t have to be a POTUS, or even a VIP, to enjoy all the awesome fun things to do on Cape Cod. Just like the Obamas, and the Clintons and Kennedys before them, you can enjoy Cape Cod vacations anytime year-round.
