So glad to see you’re featuring fresh water beaches on the Cape! Our saltwater beaches are world-famous … but our freshwater beaches are pretty darn gorgeous, too.

I’ve lived here for many years, and I hate to admit that my first visit to Nickerson State Park (Brewster) was just a few weeks ago. The ponds out there (Flax Pond, Cliff Pond, etc.) are fantastic! Crystal clear water, and such a cool, relaxing, foresty-beachy setting. The free admission/parking is pretty nice, too!

Along with the best chowda on the Cape I think Captain Parkers Pub has one of the best burgers I’ve eaten. I like a burger cooked rare and they’ll do it and do it right! Delicious!!

Nauset light beach is a great spot, however if you walk north from the main beach you get some great waves and a lot of privacy!

When visiting Cape Cod make sure you take a Sightseeing Tour with Cape Cod Scenic Tours. Every day tour goes through Cape Cod National Seashore and stops at the Nauset Lighthouse.

You really missed this one. I’ve eaten at Woodies Famous Burgers In Orleans all summer. The best burgers and hand cut fries anywhere. Prices are very reasonable considering the great quality. Very clean and love the surfing theme.

Great post on whale watching. My favorite time of year. When traveling and selecting a whale watching tour company, I always try to pick one that states they are responsible in how they approach whales. Being as close to a whale may be fun for us, but not necessarily to the whales according to research.

I just took a whale watching tour in Costa Rica and liked the professionalism this operator demonstrated. This page on their website explains how they approach whales and why.
