With all the beaches Cape Cod vacationers have to choose from it can be difficult to decide which ones to visit on your Cape summer vacation. Each Cape Cod beach offers something slightly different from others and, though all of them offer great summer fun in the sun, finding that beach that is perfect for you can take a lot of sampling. Of course, just like sampling good wines, sampling Cape Cod beaches is far from being a chore.

But, if you want to an idea for a good place to start and you are one who likes to ride the trails or the waves and then catch some rays, you might not need look any further than Race point Beach in Provincetown.

Race Point Beach, part of the Cape Cod National Seashore, is a long wide beach that offers a lot of sand and some great physical activities as well. The beach itself is a great place for sunbathing due to its northern location allowing the direct sunlight to heat the sand all day long.

Before you kick back for some rays though you might want to check out the bike trails that lead off from the dunes to nearby Herring Cove. Or you can grab your board and head out past the protected area to do a little surfing. The beaches rougher waters offer surfers some good rides though they also create a strong undertow, so keep less experienced swimmers in the shallower waters.

Beach amenities are somewhat limited but do include lifeguards, restrooms and public parking for a $15 daily fee. This and the rougher waters though tend to keep it slightly less crowded than other beaches in the area and it usually has open parking spots available throughout June and July.

So if a beach with sun, surf and some beach biking sounds like the Cape Cod vacation for you give Race Point Beach in Provincetown a try. It might just be the perfect beach for you.
