Fall festival season is in full swing on Cape Cod and that means many folks have their sights set on The Yarmouth Seaside Festival.
Presented annually on Columbus Day weekend, the event is one of the most fun-filled Cape Cod attractions in the fall, offering everything from crafts to canoe races.
Festival Milestone!
And in 2009, the Yarmouth Seaside Festival is celebrating its 31st anniversary!
Yes, you read that right.
The festival was founded in 1978 by South Yarmouth resident Jan Butler who wanted to create community spirit and pride in the Town of Yarmouth.
FREE Food, Entertainment, Games & Competitions
Since its inception, the festival has grown into a gala event which boasts a magnificant craft fair of more than 125 crafters from around the country. There’s also a giant parade, live musical entertainment, and a ton of children’s activities and games.
There’s even something for competitors, both in sport and food.
You won’t want to miss the kayak and canoe race, the 5K road race, the greased pole contest and, yep, even a pie-eating contest. Yum, yum!
Then, top all of that off with a brilliant fireworks display!
